Skagit Landing

#GSVMemberMonday Feature

Located at the Port of Skagit Airport, Skagit Landing opened in July of 2021 and is a locally-owned and operated farm-to-fork restaurant and catering company that celebrates the “bounty of the county” on every plate. At Skagit Landing, you can watch planes touch down while eating the best of what the Skagit Valley has to offer. Take one look at the menu, and you’ll find Water Tank Bakery bread as well as baked specialties using Fairhaven Mill flours. Chef Josie Urbick’s Skagit Landing recipes highlight local and regional cheeses and many Skagit grown fruits and vegetables, based on what’s in season. Glutenless, vegetarian, and vegan options are offered on the menu as well. Fall hours at Skagit Landing are: Tues-Wed from 11-3, Thurs – Sat from 11-8, and Sunday from 11-3.

Chef Josie is a formally trained Le Cordon Bleu chef who has many accolades to her credit and has worked at such iconic restaurants like Café Juanita, Lola, and was formerly the Executive Chef for Taste Café and catering service at the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Asian Art Museum and Olympic Sculpture Park before coming home to partner with the Spinach Bus Food and Beverage Company in her hometown of Mount Vernon, Washington.

Chef Josie believes that it is her responsibility to support the local farmers and cultivate the same sensibilities within our community. She has a deep-rooted passion for food and enjoys creating delicious meals for her guests, nourishing them with menu items made from the best local ingredients and enriching the lives of those who dine with her.

Skagit Landing also operates The Landing at Skagit Acres, a café located at its sister business, Skagit Acres which features a garden center, nursery, and a gift shop with local, hand-made products and stylish home décor. Fall hours at The Landing at Skagit Acres are: Tuesday – Sunday from 11-3, Closed on Mondays.

We recently asked Chef Josie what her favorite Skagit grown fruit and/or vegetable was. Here’s what she had to say:

That’s a hard one! Tomatoes. There are so many different varieties, beautiful shapes, and sizes, and they are so sweet. You don’t need to do anything to them cooking-wise to appreciate their flavor. They are simple and delicious.

With the harvest season in full swing, Skagit Landing and The Landing at Skagit Acres, have special offerings including a new specialty shake program and new baked goods, beer, and wine. The Harvest at Skagit Acres, a fall family event featuring a pumpkin patch, corn maze, sunflower patch, apple slingshot, and more, began September 22nd and runs each weekend until October 22nd. Every weekend during the Harvest, The Landing at Skagit Acres will have special food & drink items available. More information about The Harvest can be found on our website calendar HERE.

As the holiday season fast approaches, Chef Josie and the team at Skagit Landing are ready to help you with catering for holiday parties, rehearsal dinners, and meeting space needs. Please email contact@skagitlanding.com or fill out the online form for more information on catering inquiries or meeting space availability.

We’re so grateful for the support of Skagit Landing and The Landing at Skagit Acres and are thrilled to feature Chef Josie and her team as this week’s #GSVMemberMonday feature.
