A Fascination for Hellebores – Christianson’s 18th Winter Festival

Now through April, when most perennials are slumbering in dormancy, hellebores are in full bloom with flowers that provide color and interest in the sleepy winter garden. Known as the Christmas or Lenten rose, hellebore’s cheery characteristic brightens the winter garden and reinstills hope for warmer months ahead. Now available in endless varieties with endearing forms likened to single-petal roses, both Helleborus orientalis and Helleborus niger are fit for winter survival from pot to ground.
