Grow Your Groceries (Summer Cohort)

June 28, 2023 @ 6:00 pm 7:30 pm

Hosted by WSU Mount Vernon Research & Extension Center, this very popular 4 part course typically sells out quickly, so please register ASAP to reserve your spot!

Learn how to preserve food! This 4 part series will help you increase your food access using safe, tested protocols. With the recent COVID outbreak, we have found an increased interest in food preservation as we experience food shortages at grocery stores and put more emphasis on self-sustainability in our food system.

No equipment necessary. WSU Food Safety/Preservation instructor will teach techniques and explain the items needed to preserve foods in your home. This series covers all information needed to take advantage of our amazing local produce and reduce waste in your kitchen. This class will be taught online using Zoom.

Participants will receive a variety of links for free downloadable recipes, guidelines, and articles through a link to a comprehensive Google Drive. If you are a SNAP recipient or feel that the class fee presents a financial barrier, you may also be eligible for a partial or full scholarship, please contact j.bryan-goforth@wsu.edu for more information. To register, select your ticket for June 28th–we are only offering a full series option for this class and this ticket is for the entire series . The $50 class fee covers all four classes.
